Cross-country skiing is one of the most immersive experiences you can have in Oasi Zegna, in the Valdilana nature park. And a rather special way to enjoy the peacefulness here is to come on a Tuesday, when the downhill slopes are closed. The cross-country trails are still open though, as on the other days of the week.
Oasi Zegna has a network of trails, at heights of between 1,200 and 1,500 meters above sea level, fanning out across the mountainside overlooking Val Sessera and facing north (thus favoring snow conditions). 20 kilometers of trails constantly groomed and adapted for all kinds of technique, diagonal astride and skating, ideal for both beginners and experts. There are five trails, from the baby (2 km) to the touring trails (up to 11 km). There is also a 3.5 km loop for those doing serious training. The cross-country trails are accessed from Bocchetto Sessera and Piazzale Due in Bielmonte.
Places where you can enjoy the calm of the mountains and also a tasty bite to eat include Albergo La Pineta, Wing Over Bar and Locanda Argimonia. In these relaxing rustic settings you can try the local specialties and savor a glass of good Piemonte wine.
