Autumn is a season not be missed in Oasi Zegna. From the vibrant greens of summer, nature slowly changes by taking on warmer and more engaging hues. Like patches of watercolor, the broadleaf woods turn yellow, orange and red, with dabs of purple and brown, ahead of their winter rest. The chromatic disorder that nature creates become a palette of living art that changes every year in response to weather conditions.
Autumn foliage is the event most keenly awaited by nature lovers. In preparation for their vegetative repose, plants collect lymph in their roots and slowly abandon their leaves. With its high degree of biodiversity, Oasi Zegna is one of the of the most fascinating places to observe this phenomenon, a veritable multisensory experience.
Birches and beeches create patches of gold and fire along the ridge of Bielmonte and into Val Sessera and Valle Cervo. The sound of cowbells – the cows now being down in the valley bottoms – is replaced by the whistling of the wind in the trees. The landscape is changing and nature offers us an incredible palette of colors to combine with the fragrances and flavors of the table.
Once again, fires crackle in the hearths in our villages and in the taverns, restaurants, farmstays and mountain refuges that offer traditional menus with in-season products.
Walking is fun but so is having a rest: the Albergo Ristorante Bucaneve in Bielmonte can boast that warm hospitality typical of the mountains, not to mention a wellbeing facility with saunas, Turkish baths and a panoramic jacuzzi.
The season is ideal for enjoying the last weekends before winter, made even easier and more advantageous by the Piemonte region’s holiday vouchers. It’s a busy season but also meditative, its color palette embracing landscapes, gastronomy and the art of wellbeing.
