Reviving and conserving the culture produced by the territory over the centuries and transforming it into an element of cohesion and development amongst the local people.

The term ecomuseum was coined in France in the ‘70s and has been used since then to indicate efforts to protect and develop traditions that represent the history and roots of all of us.

Oasi Zegna, a nature park in the Biella Alps in Piemonte, is an important part of the Biella Ecomuseum, as it conserves the ancient practices of alpine agriculture in its more traditional manifestations but also accepts highly innovative new techniques.
