GENERAL INFORMATION 

WHAT IS THE HERMENEGILDO TRAIL?
The Cammino di Ermenegildo is a dive into history and nature. A three-day loop trek in the heart of the Oasi Zegna, in the Biella Alps, in Piedmont. An immersive experience in nature, designed for intermediate hikers who wish to explore new landscapes.

WHAT IS THE BEST TIME TO WALK IT?
The route can be walked in all seasons except winter.

IS THERE SIGNPOSTING ALONG THE ROUTE?
All the stages of the Pilgrim's Way are equipped with light signposts, i.e. panels, wooden posts and other supports, and markers with dedicated graphics. For more information, please consult this page.

IS WALKING THE WALK FREE OF CHARGE OR IS THERE A TICKET?
No, there is no ticket to buy, the experience of walking the Camino is free.

CAN I CONSULT THE GPS TRACKS OF THE CAMINO? IS THERE AN APPLICATION OF THE CAMINO TO ORIENTATE MYSELF? 
Yes, gpx and gps tracks are available on the Outdooractive portal.

IS THERE TELEPHONE COVERAGE ALONG THE ROUTE? 
In general, telephone coverage is good along most of the routes. However, as they are routes through nature, there are some sections where the signal may be weak or absent, especially in mountainous areas. It is advisable to notify someone of your route and download offline maps before setting off.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO WALK THE CAMINO ALONE?
Yes, the Way can be walked on your own. We advise you to signal your departure so that someone will be informed in case of need.

IS SPECIFIC TRAINING NEEDED?
This is a moderately demanding route, suitable for those who have a good workout and are familiar with paths with significant differences in height and stretches on uneven ground.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO WALK THE ROUTE WITH CHILDREN?
This is a walk that requires average training to be done.

IS THE WALK ACCESSIBLE IN A WHEELCHAIR OR TO PEOPLE WITH MOBILITY DIFFICULTIES?
No, as it is a route that requires a good level of training, it is not possible to walk it in a wheelchair or by people with limited mobility.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO WALK THE ROUTE BY BICYCLE?
No, the route is designed to be walked.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO WALK THE WALK WITH DOGS?
Yes, as for the other mountain trails in the Oasi Zegna, dogs are allowed on a leash.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO STAY IN A LARGE GROUP?
There are numerous accommodation facilities along the route where you can stay overnight. If you are travelling with a large group, we advise you to contact the accommodation in which you plan to stay in advance.

WHAT EQUIPMENT IS RECOMMENDED?
Hiking boots, mountain and rain-proof clothing, water bottle, walking stick.

WHERE CAN I PICK UP MY OFFICIAL PASSPORT?
Before setting off, remember to pick up your Walker's Passport. Here's where you can request it: Casa Zegna, Negozio Zegna, T rivero Tourist Office, Bar del Ponte, Agriturismo Oro di Berta, Cascina il Faggio, Gribaud Osteria di Montagna, Cascina Prapien.

WHERE CAN I SLEEP OR EAT ALONG THE ROUTE?
For each stage of the Camino di Ermenegildo, there are refuges, holiday farms, inns and support points that offer accommodation, refreshments and information about the area. Consult this page for more information.
